In 2016, Rekha Thakur was awarded the title of Dancing Star of Himachal in Ludhiana. She received the award from singer Sukhwinder Singh. She participated in the International Indian Icon 2021. She has also worked as a singer with Dream India Production.

Rekha Thakur’s favorite places in Himachal Pradesh are the Budha Narayan Ji and Ashapuri Mata temples in the Sainj Valley of Kullu district. The famous Bijli Mahadev temple in Kullu is also one of her favorite places. The Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali is another favorite. Her most favorite place in India is the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.
